URANIUM and MINERALS EXPLORATION EXPERIENCE:

I played an active part of the mineral exploration industry in Australia and Papua New Guinea from 1961 to 1999 with the occasional special overseas assignments. I have on-the-ground experience in most Australian mineral fields exploring for a wide range of base metals, non-metallic elements and precious metals. Exploration experience outside of Australia has been in Greece, Spain, South Africa and Arizona, USA.

I have 38 years of on the ground exploration experience with 8 years directly engaged in surface and subsurface uranium exploration and radioactivity surveys in a broad range of uranium mineralisation styles. These mineralization types include: roll-front, stratiform, lake bed, vein type in granite, unconformity vein type (Archean/Lower Prot.) and several other styles yet to be categorised. 

During a 5 year consultancy with the International Atomic Energy Agency at the United Nations Offices in Vienna, Austria, I co-authored 2 IAEA publications, TR Series 212 - Bore-hole Logging for Uranium Exploration, A Manual; and TR Series 259, Practical Borehole Logging Procedures for Mineral Exploration with Emphasis on Uranium.  Whilst consulting to the IAEA I also participated with a joint NEA/IAEA Group of Experts Meetings on radiation detection techniques and interpretation .

I remains active in new applications of new technologies for exploration.
